I mean, who's ever heard of a *gay* republican?

Before you shout out names, here's a List of totally straight republicans who have been falsely accused of being less than 200% straight:

Mark Foley (Didn't send a single sexy email to male pages over a 10 year period.)
James Guckert (Totally not a gay prostitute now)
Ken Mehlman (Worked for Bush and Dick, that's 100% straight!)
Ted Haggard (Totally didn't hire a gay prostitute.)
Armstrong Williams (Did NOT settle out of a gay sexual harassment suit)
Bob Allen (Would never offer $20 and a B.J. to a "burly black man" in a park bathroom)
Glenn Murphy (Did NOT blow a fellow young republican while he was sleeping.)
Larry Craig (Has a wide stance. Totally didn't try to pick up guys in airport bathroom.)

Seriously Not Gay. They are really into chicks. Can't get enough of 'em. Yeah!

Eh. The Kos article and the Americablog article it links to seem just as petty as Sere's original comments about Herron. "GOB" is likely an acronym for "Good Ole Boys," a fairly common reference to rednecks, the Dukes of Hazzard (see also: redneck), and certain people with political influence who consider themselves traditional and "Real Americans" (see also: redneck).
Frankly, I don't know how many people knew gob was slang amongs gay men for "for oral sex, and for young gay sailors" (except gay men, anyway).

But Seré's last name is definitely French. He's obviously not that much of a real American if he sticks with a French name, especially with that fagotly little accent above the E.
